- "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." - Thomas Edison, creating the light bulb.
As of February 2024, MenloLab Inc. will be ceasing operations. Since our inception in 2018, we've embarked on a mission to develop cutting-edge tools for engineers to harness the power of the cloud. Our journey was fueled by a vision innovate and transform, a vision that has seen partial fulfillment as the landscape evolved and larger incumbents stepped into fill the space.
The advent of generative AI marks a turning point, signaling a future where the engineering landscape will be reshaped in ways we are only beginning to understand. It's clear that this new horizon is being pursued with vigor by others, who are making strides where we have faced our limits.
Our approach to bootstrap was chosen with hope but proved to be a challenging path for the ambitious products we aimed to build. This journey, however challenging, has been enriched by the remarkable individuals I've had the privilege to work alongside - dedicated coop students, skilled full-time engineers, and everyone who contributed their talent and time to our shared goal. Your dedication, creativity, and passion have been the back bone of our endevaours, and for that, I am profoundly thankful.
While we may be closing this chapter, the relationships and achievements we've forged together will always remain. I remain hopeful and excited at the prospect of crossing paths again in the future, embarking on new ventures with the same spirit of innovation and collaboration that defined our time together at MenloLab Inc.
Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey - our team, our partners, our customers, and our supporters. Your belief in our vision and you support through every challenge and success have been invaluable. As we move forward, I carry with me the lessons learned, the friendships made, and the unyielding belief in the power of technology to change the world.
With deepest gratitude,
Tyler Stiene
